When I wash the henna out with plain water, I do a baking soda rinse afterwards because supposedly the pH change makes indigo dye better. But for a while I wasn't doing the baking soda rinse, and my indigo was still washing out fast. I let my hair dry and then mix indigo with plain water. Keep it on my head for around 3 hours.
