I have been using an e-ink smartphone instead of a dumbphone for the past 1,5 years as a more or less perfect compromise between functionality and addiction free phone use. One of the good things about it is that you have access to Spotify, Audible, podcast apps, etc. In your case, I would buy a Hisense A5 for cheap. It allows Spotify and audio related apps, everything else crashes :) It is the best solution by far. I have a review coming on the Samsung Watch and a list of Spotify smartwatches that can do a bunch of other stuff, it is not my preferred method, but its definitely a possibility. My dumb phone is coming in the mail so I’m about to have to figure this out. For now I’m going to wipe my current smart phone (data still saved in the cloud just not on device), and set it up with just Spotify. I’m going to use it as my car GPS system and music player rather than as a phone. At least until I decide if I want to buy a Garmin.
