It would shut off. Took it to the shop, they said it runs through a checklist and shuts the car if off to protect it if theirs a problem.Conditions for remote start from the owners manual. I have 2008 SXT AWD. I asked about the MOPAR remote starter kit that comes with a 2 button controller. The guy told me that new for 2008 they order a factory remote starter kit and replace my original 2 key fobs with new ones. He said the package cost $389 (canadian dollars) plus install.
2010 Dodge Charger R/T with OEM Remote Start quit working. This occurred after having a dead battery and performing swap with new battery. Remote Start worked fine before replacing battery. Also no malfunction codes are present. Checked hood pin and it seems to be operating correctly. Does anyone have any input into this matter?

Will not work in my garage or sitting outside at work. 4- I get this message "Remote Start Disabled Start Vehicle to Reset". 5- I can drive to the store, take care of business and it will work.If it is older and a little weak, the remote start may not work. Not that it sounds like an issue with you, but if you have below 1/4 tank (I believe) of fuel, remote start is also disabled. Tank is 3/4 full and the battery should be good since it starts fine otherwise. Battery gauge on the dash shows 14.4 volts.

It's enough to start it remotely but after it starts and the computer sees voltage too low it will stop the engine. Mine did this several times and an overnight charge with the CTEK cured the problem.
