In other words - disabling this exhaust valve will mess up the EGR system and (more importantly) prevent regeneration of the NOx storage catalyst. This will cause this catalyst to fail and it is much more expensive to replace than the exhaust flapper valve.

An EGR delete is useless imo, if your car isn't burning oil it won't get clogged up. When the throttle is close to the floor or the rpm is over 3k the EGR stops interfering and acts like it isn't there. It helps with emissions when cruising or idling.
