I went to my first opening ceremony in October after attending for 4 years. If it was my first edc, I'd go. The spectacle is dramatic and when they 'open up' edc it's really cool to be among the first go explore. Now that it's my 5th year I probably won't unless the lineup sounds fun, it's quite a long day to be there from open to close.

The biggest EDC challenge for everyone seems to be getting to and from the event. I have been through the good, the bad, and the apocalypse when it comes to the EDC shuttles. No matter what you have to go through to get there and get back I will say it always feels worth it in the end.

Shuttles were less than hour and easy to hop on. Definitely would do again. Airbnb and driving ourselves seemed to be a great choice for us, first time at EDC so haven't tried anything else. If you're camping, expect to hear music 24/7. It is literally a party from the moment it starts until stop.
