Most of my runs are short and the water is typically deep with a few shallow muddy areas. Never in mud with a hard bottom. Worst case for me is grinding through thick nutgrass or cattails. I would like to be able to fish (troll) out of the new rig and I'm thinking a long tail wouldn't be the best motor for that.
