The early kits added frame rails, extended the steering, and bumped up the height of the hood.
Thinking that the coil is dead, i ordered the pertronix coil, flame thrower 3ohms, part 40511, and also the electronic ignition for the distributor, part 1244a, so that I don't have to do the point and condenser maintenance. Local mechanic made service call to replace spark plugs, plug wires, and install Pertronix Ignitor 1244AP6 on our Ford 8N, 6V positive ground with side mount distributor.
