In the past it was fine but I always had to put tractor in reverse before the pto would engage. from that point on I would put into drive and increase rpm to desired point and go. Now it wont engage at all. Try this: Set your tractor in Neutral. Set your PTO Selector for the Rear PTO. Set your parking break. Throttle the tractor RPMs to the correct PTO rating, then trying engaging your PTO. If your rear PTO comes on and spins then your seat is not by-passed correctly. etcallhome and BigJim55.

Check the output on the large lug on the back of the alternator while the engine is a little above idle and see if it is charging at 12,5 volts or higher.

Take a look and see if you can spot it. Remove the cotter pin and clevis pin. Loosen the locknut on the clevis. Make a one turn adjustment to shorten the clutch linkage, and check to see if the PTO clutch is working. Thereafter, make half turn adjustments and check the PTO clutch.
