Could someone give me a quick millimeter to stich per inch conversion for pricking irons / diamond stitching chisels? For a while now I have been using lacing chisels to make stitching holes. I gave up on the overstitch wheel pretty quick. I think its about time I pick up some proper stitching chisels though.

If you want to use pricking irons, I recommend Vergez Blanchard. This French company has been manufacturing their signature hand tools since 1823. They are known for their high quality tools as a result of traditional hand forging methods that they use in the manufacturing process. I use the #10 and #2 sizes of the pricking irons.They make a large hole which is easy to get your needles through but if your goal is fine leatherwork you will probably move on to pricking iron or stitching irons. I personally use Blanchard irons but I don't think they are any better than some random $15 chinese pricking iron from ebay.
