The Staccato is basically a 1911. $1500 for a single stack 1911 is a lot when it's supposed to be a carry gun. The DVC, being a 2011, is a much more niche market where consumers will tolerate higher prices. A good 2011 mag is probably the cost of 3 single stack mags. Once you hit Staccato you really start getting to diminishing returns. Like if a Staccato is 200% better than a Glock a Atlas is like 25% better than a Staccato.Also worth mentioning - the XC has a 9 lb recoil spring in it. I believe the stock spring was 8 lbs. Although I haven't had a single malfunction with it, I did notice the slide hesitating when feeding flat-nosed and HP ammo. And then, and then the EDC if you have to shoot from retention, you are blowing gas up in your face. If you are thinking about a C2 then to me, the answer is clear.Changing the recoil spring makes a huge difference. Because the compensator deflects some of the force, you can go a lot lighter and still be quite reliable. I tried a 7 pound spring but it felt sluggish in the return. 8 or 9 pounds is the sweet spot.
