I am on the local fire department, and recently had a call on a very windy road my truck was above the scene and around a blind corner running lights.. or so I thought. Seems it shut down after half an hour and i was un aware. My dealer said I should be able to change it …
Owner/Operator. Feb 5, 2020. #1. It's winter and I'm stuck in a snowstorm. Last night i overnighted in the cab. Barely enough room to lay down. Te truck kept shuttimg down and i wake up freezing. Long idles are not good for it. It is running at a cold temp and the soot and carbon deposits will be increased. Big rigs are ran hard and burn those deposits off after each long idle. If you just run around town and let it idle a lot you will soot up your oil and carbon up you cylinder, valves and injector tips.
