South Louisiana. Nov 10, 2021. #1. I am cleaning up an 028 Super AV WB. The fuel tank vent insert is missing. The part number is “Stihl 1120 358 8105 vent insert”. Can I use the cut off threads of an old screw that can be pushed into the line? Looks like the screw threads will allow the gasses to vent through them.
Though the 026 is every bit as good as the 028 it replaced I stihl prefer the rounded design of the original. I have been through the carb hoses etc. replaced most gaskets and hoses but not impulse hose as it seemed OK. Runs good when cutting but when going to idle it is very inconsistent. Either wont idle or wont slow down. Adjusting low jet or idle speed does not get expected response.

It is in good shape. I pulled the muffler to look at the piston and cylinder and it was good. Recoil compression test was good. It started easy.
