I have an old (1964) Mec 600 jr that I converted to 2 1/2" 410 and a new 600 jr MK5 for 3" 410. I have loaded a lot of rounds never needed the stripper. My hulls don't hang up at the reprime station. So I've just loaded a couple boxes of target loads (#9 shot), and about half the time the charge bar seems to lock up - it drops the powder fine sliding right to left, but then locks up sliding left to right and requires quite a bit of effort, or maybe even a couple tries, to slide right and drop the shot.

I use a folded washcloth...drop 10 primer on the cloth. The cloth acts as a cushion making it easy to grab a primer. Complete a shell, grab a primer, drop it in, grab a hull and take off. The Mec 600 is a very simple machine, I'd keep it that way.
