It will be anouther month or so before I get my motor and I'm ordering a flip kit tomorrow witch will be here well before the motor.So I got a 1998 Chevy GMT-400 it had a 5.7 Vortec motor but I swapped it out for a cammed LS1 (5.3) an swapped the 4L60E to a 4L80E from a 4x4 to a 2 wheel drive transmission.  Will these fit? ... To swap in the nv4500 you need the transfer case that was hooked to it. The one in your truck has a different input spline size. Going 6L look for a k2500 in the yards that was hooked to a 6.0 for the nv4500. For an LQ9 I think you are looking for Escalade or Denali donars.6 Liter LS Truck Engine Swap. Remove all the emissions pins from the LS1 harness. If you are using a 4l60 with your LS engine and the vehicle you are working on had a 4l60 then keep the factory transmission pins and swap them into the LS harness. If you are using a 4l80 then use the transmission pigtail harness you have (assumedly a 6.0/4l80 takeout).I would just get a LS style 4L60E at a minimum. Personally I would ditch the 60E and get a 4L80E though. You could probably trade off the LS1 for an iron 6.0L too, which would work better for the swap. The truck accessories, intake and exhaust manifolds are an easier swap into a truck. Last edited: Jul 4, 2023.

TECH ARTICLE. LS Swap into 88-98 GM Truck. We have always wanted to build a 88-98 sport truck, and with the popularity of these trucks coming back, now was the perfect time. At the moment, these trucks are relatively cheap to pick up, and can be found with full power, AC, tilt, etc.I have a stock 5.3, with stock manifolds. I used about 4" of the OE exhaust off the manifold, for the flanges and O2 bungs. The rest is 2.5 pipe, curved pieces from the scrap bin at an exhaust shop, off a 2010 Camaro. The straight sections are from the parts store. Two Dynomax race bullets.

If not then L96 + 6Lxx tranny, the L96 and 6l90 will probably take more work to integrate, so it'll be more expensive. The 6l90 (or 80) would just be awesome in a gmt400. The oil pressure sensor in the pic is what I removed from the gen 3 ls, it has only 1 pin. It looks identical to the parts store stock replacement for my 97. There are …Not interested in swapping trans to nv4500. For what the truck is used for I'm not terribly worried about it breaking and if it does ill put another 3500 in it or rebuild mine. I don't beat the truck like i used to just looking to restore and build a good street, light off road truck, still running 4.56 and 35s on a 6" lift.
