Blood tax is good but takes timing to land, while implaling strike and piercing fang go through shield blocks while dealing good poise damage. So it depends on what you're trying to get from the weapon : P Estoc is the best for me btw. pvp or pve. Flame of the Redmanes with fire affinity.

If you can kill an Omen with FotR before it staggers, then forget it. Just use something else. It’s just for clearing groups of weak enemies now.

Nah something had to give and imo stance nerf is the best option - FP cost would decrease elemental utility and CC in low FP chars and increased cast would make it much less worth trying to pull off with the short range (just opening yourself to an asswhupping).
