Do unplug the rear "black" 1" wide electrical plug at the back of the shift mechanism so you isolate the shifter switches from the car. Now I could easily see the tiny microswitch at the top of the shifter, just about inline with the shiftshaft when in Park. You won't really even need to disconnect the wires but may make it a bit easier. Anyway there's a small snap-on cover for the micro switch. You'll need to get one of those hook tools to unsnap it.
