When I first pulled the Oryx chassis out of the box, I was surprised by its weight. At 4.2 lbs, it’s not a lightweight. The KRG Bravo is 2.9 lbs in comparison. A full-on PRS chassis from MPA, KRG, or MDT will run somewhere between 4.5 lbs and 7 lbs out of the box.

The best option Id say is the Oryx, and then the field stock when its launched later this year. On the LSS there really isn’t a maximum, but depending on the contour of the barrel the longer and heavier you go the harder it is to balance the rifle overall. Which may be as important to a hunting gun, but its something to consider.

As though the current stock designs weren’t enough, there are also hybrid stocks like the KRG Bravo, MDT XRS, Magpul Hunter, and recently released MDT HNT26 stocks which set a partial chassis and into a synthetic stock. At this moment I can't comment on whether I prefer a stock or a chassis but I do prefer the look of the chassis. Well I just received my two Strike Nuke Evo chassis yesterday and did a short video of them today. The quality is top notch and surprisingly they feel like a Macmillan A4/A5 and are well balanced. They are heavier then a KRG Bravo or the MDT XRS by about 1 to 2 pounds and priced about 100-150$ more as well.
