A number of my buddies shot 500's and 835's. They all worked. I shot Remingtons because they fit me better. I have nothing bad to say about the cheap Mossbergs or the even cheaper Mossberg Mavericks. I believe the Mossberg pump guns can be built at a at cheaper price point than the 870 and still be extremely reliable.
