It got a little better after the 1st oil change, according to the dealership it's typical for the engine. Share. 2016 Kia Soul engine idles extremely rough. I would not call it a vibration as it is too smooth to be annoying. The surging you (OP) speak of, might be the transmission "shifting" up a gear, as you gently coast to a stop.
