Virginia State University has been selected as one of six HBCU bands to perform at the 2023 Honda Battle of the Bands (HBOB). The VSU Trojan Explosion will compete in the highly regarded event on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Alabama State University in Montgomery. As a selected university, VSU will receive a $50,000 grant from Honda to support VSU music education programs.The 2023 Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade will begin at 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of West 9th Street and North Tryon before marching south along Tryon to West Brooklyn Village Avenue.The 2023 HBCU Battle of the Bands highlights the best musicians and dancers in the HBCU community.
